There’s so much to do in Canggu, Bali – from learning how to cook a dish from a professional chef in an open-air kitchen to exploring charming villages like Mengwi and finding your perfect spot to relax on the beach.

If cooking isn’t your thing, there are plenty of other activities to get involved in, like beach exploring, temple-visiting, foodie exploration, rice fields, and more.

1. Relax at Pool Bars

Canggu never lacks a bar, beaches, or a swimming pool. A pool bar is a perfect setting for relaxing or enjoying an afternoon. La Brisa decor resembles a rustic treehouse made of salvaged fishing vessels.

There are fairy lights, wickers, and rope nettings throughout the interior. The entire food Menu they offer Is spectacular.

Bali has a fantastic surfing culture, so this is an ideal activity at Canggu. The area has several popular surf spots and several nearby merchants who rent a scuba diving boats for small fees. The average price for 2-hour board rentals is approximately 100,000 to 200,000 IDR.

Samadi Sunday Market is one of my favorite markets in Canggu. Get ready to buy some fresh produce here – incredibly fresh tropical fruits. You will find slices of bread, cheese, coffee beans, essential oils, jewelry, and garments.

Next door to Love Anchor Market, there are several retail stores in an enclosed space and outside markets.

They sell clothing, jewelry, soap, crafts, and souvenir goods. They are open every day from 9 am – 10 pm. The Canggu market is the only one open throughout the week other than the local markets along the streets.

The famous route starts in Pantai Batu Mejan, Echo Beach. Take a right on Jalan Pura Bllang Yeh before reaching the finish. Eventually, you’re at the junction with the Jalan Sempol road, the best route for viewing rice groves.

Art dominates Canggu’s streets like Georgetown in Penang and Hosier Street in Melbourne Street. It’s an exciting and free activity in Canggu. Keep in touch with Quint about his work and other artwork. The artist from Jakarta prefers black-white street art with a red circle on the front.

Besides Jakarta / Tokyo / Berlin, his works appear on the international scene. You can just walk or jump into the scooter to see the art. Street artists are found throughout the town, particularly along alleyways.

Surfing is a great way to have a great day. Surfing begins at sunrise, at 5:30. The advanced surfers typically start early at 6 or 7 am to get away from crowds and to avoid hot water. You can also rent scooters with surfboards that are easy to transport.

Stores near the beach are aimed at surfing lessons or rentals. As a person walking along the shore, they might stop and ask you for a surfboard. I suggest that you start learning in a beginner course first! And it’s incredibly fun.

Go to the local grocery store, buy things, and get a beach towel to put on a picnic blanket.

Sadly, the beaches of Bali are not as clean as the pictures depict. Help by donating or volunteering for beach clean-ups. Trash Hero Canggu represents Trash Hero World. Indonesia is a member nation among 12 member movements.

How to get to Canggu?

Ngurah Rai International Airport can be reached in a 45-minute drive. The easiest way is by Grab scooter, Grab Car, Gojek, or bluebird taxi.

Taking Grab or Gojek will be much cheaper than a Blue Bird taxi to the airport, from 60,000 IDR with Grab to 200,000 IDR with a Blue Bird taxi – an acceptable value.

Make a reservation via the App on Grab or Bluebird or visit the departure terminal level three. You should note other taxis pose as bluebirds and have the same colored cars.

Look at the bluebird sign in the car, with the driver wearing uniforms, But I recommend using grab over anything else. It’s cheaper, more reliable, and less hassle or you can use a private driver!

Getting Around Canggu

You must watch out for motorbikes passing over tight roads. The majority use a motorbike to travel around the town. You may find rented bikes in your hotel on every corner.

Expect at least USD 5 per day per bike to be rented at the Canggu town center. It may be the first time you visit Bali, and you will find it hard to follow traffic rules and adapt to the traffic.
